Although your book is competing against millions of other books, your fellow authors are not your competition. They are your partners. You should treat them as partners. Join author groups, both online and in the real world, and do everything you can to contribute to the success of your fellow authors. Share ideas, and share experiences of what worked for you and what didn’t work. Do joint promotions with them so that your fans can learn about them and their fans can learn about you. When you open doors for your fellow authors, they will open doors for you as well.
